Caveman

I'd love to say this has never been done before, but frankly this design was inspired by the earliest examples of the axe from human history.

Inspired by the knapped axes of the stone age, I'm leveraging the 3D printing process to it's absolute fullest.  Between the texture on the blade and poll and the grooves around the eye to invoke the sense of sinew lashings, this is one of my most unique designs yet.

It's also a beast of a hatchet at 2 lbs head weight. When it gets to the board, not much is going to prevent it from sticking. The center of balance is just slightly forward of the eye. 

Because of all the texturing, the only areas I'll be able to touch with my belt grinder are the eye, the back of the poll (that's where I'm placing the gate for casting) and the front edge. This should add to the rough / primitive look of the axe. It will not come as shiny as the images imply, that's an artifact of the software I couldn't figure out how to change. The caveman will come with the same matte finish as all my other axes

By default, this axe comes with a single handle.  Additional handles can be purchased here. 

This axe should meet the specifications and regulations for small axe competitions of most organizations. Those regulations are changing all the time though so if you're unsure, feel free to reach out!

As an Infinity Axes special, this design incorporates a pinned handle design that allows for rapid replacement of handles.  The socket measures 1.25 inches x 0.75 inches with 1/4 inch radius corners.  You can choose to purchase additional handles with your axe head.  Regardless of choice we will also include a high strength roll-pin that will require the use of a punch to insert / remove.  The hole for the roll pins is 1/4inch in diameter, in our experience the roll pin, provides the best balance of strength and ease of replacement.
