What to Expect

A lot of this information is scattered around the site, but in the interest of clear communication, I wanted to bring it all into a single page.  Here's how the process will work:

• When you place an order, you are securing your spot in the production queue.
• Expect 3-9 weeks for the axe to be ready for delivery.
• If I have your axe in stock, i can get it shipped within 3 weeks.  
• If I don't have your axe in stock:
• The foundry needs 3-5 weeks to work me in for casting
• Heat treatment requires 1 week
• Clean up and sharpening will take me 1-2 weeks.
• All axes come hung unless you contact me to say otherwise.
• Handles will all come in 18" lengths to allow you to trim it down to your exact preference.
• Spare handles will be included in the box completely unfinished.
• I don't apply any chemical finish to the handles.  You can apply whatever finish you prefer.  
• The axe head will have a smooth matt finish and a clear oil coat to help prevent rusting.
• The axe will be sharpened according to the order selections.
