Draken 3.0
The name Draken comes from a historic longship of the Viking era. Channeling the vibe of the Viking era using the long ship and billowing sails as the primary design elements this axe is going to make waves in competition. (I'm not even a little embarrassed by that pun).
By focusing the bulk of the mass up high behind the tip of the blade this axe is going to have similar penetration power like the space hawk, but with a much more elaborate beard it will also be making a statement when it arrives.
Additionally the blade thins down to a very sleek profile that should not require any additional profiling. This is a sleek axe, ready for serious competition.
3.0 update: if you're not familiar with the history of this axe, I had to make modifications and redesigns to meet hatchet regulations for competition in the 2.0 design. The 3.0 redesign removed the ball poll element, made the embossing less deep, and made the eye height slightly larger to keep the weight above 1.5lbs
By default, this axe comes with a single handle. Additional handles can be purchased here.
As an Infinity Axes special, this design incorporates a pinned handle design that allows for rapid replacement of handles. The socket measures 1.25 inches x 0.75 inches with 1/4 inch radius corners. You can choose to purchase additional handles with your axe head. Regardless of choice we will also include a high strength roll-pin that will require the use of a punch to insert / remove. The hole for the roll pins is 1/4inch in diameter, in our experience the roll pin, provides the best balance of strength and ease of replacement.

The best and most well balanced axe I have thrown in my 20 years of throwing competitively. I can't say enough good things about it. Weight and rotation with the supplied 18" handle is perfect for me. And man, it just looks awesome as well. Taylor kept me up to date through the entire forging, assembly , and shipping process. I absolutely love this axe. The head is beautiful and I get compliments on it all the time. It throws well, sinks into the board, and drops are rare. The weight is just about perfect for me. The handle wasn't ideal for me. At the original length, the axe felt very top heavy. I also tend to have a preference for round handles and it felt a bit light. But cutting the handle down made it feel much more balanced and it fit comfortably in my hand after sanding down the edges. Eventually, I'd like to get a handle made, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. It's really a fantastic axe. It's become my main thrower. Well worth both the money and the wait.

Ordering: If you read the FAQ on the website as I did or follow the Facebook page, you understand this isn't a massive organization like WATL. It's a small operation. I'm very impressed with what they accomplish being as small as they are. As such, manufacturing time and shipping can take awhile. I ordered the new Draken 3.0 in early June 2022 (prior to them being sent out to the forge.) I received the axe in the beginning of November. I was ok with this and expected this. Infinity Axes are very straight forward and great at responding to emails. That being said, it required me to inquire about progress to get updates. Would have been nice to have gotten somewhat regular updates on progress so I didn't feel forgotten. Experience could differ if you purchase ready to ship items as well. The Axe: The Dracon 3.0 is an excellent axe head. The handle leaves something to be desired, being very light weight and plain. This created a very difficult learning curve on the throw as it rotates very differently than other axes I've used since the head is that much heavier than the handle (compared to WATL axes, in my experience). That being said, replacing the handle isn't the most complicated thing but strongly recommended if you're used to WATL brand. The head itself is perfection. Very sharp straight from the box. Excellent design. Sticks every time without much effort. Planning to use was my main one I get a new handle. Overall, very happy with my purchase. - Increase communication during production and (if possible) offer better handles (even for a premium price) and this would be 5 star.
