Flamingo

This design was a happy accident.  I was in the process of erasing elements of a design that I didn't like and about half way through the erasing, the funky shape of the blade came out.  After that, the rest of the design almost drew itself.

The Flamingo is currently one of our heaviest small axe designs at 1.72 lbs which makes it slightly heavier than the Flying Fox and almost 1/2 lb heavier than the Cold Steel Axe Gang.  If you're after a hefty axe to pound it's way into the boards, no matter what, this is the axe for you.

The beard of the Flamingo is 2.75 inches behind the edge, so even if the axe buries itself completely in a true 2" thick board there's little risk of lost points.

By default, this axe comes with a single handle.  Additional handles can be purchased here. 

As an Infinity Axes special, this design incorporates a pinned handle design that allows for rapid replacement of handles.  The socket measures 1.25 inches x 0.75 inches with 1/4 inch radius corners.  You can choose to purchase additional handles with your axe head.  Regardless of choice we will also include a high strength roll-pin that will require the use of a punch to insert / remove.  The hole for the roll pins is 1/4inch in diameter, in our experience the roll pin, provides the best balance of strength and ease of replacement.
